I do have the strong belief that every style maven has a particular silhouette or style that they rely on time and time again, and I have come to the realization that the midi is that particular object of affection for me. Trends may come and go, but true style icons are the ones who have learned to incorporate the trends into their own personal style aesthetic, not the other way around. These new trends come with the change of each season in order to get us to shake things up a bit and to keep our wardrobe from getting stale like last week's loaf of bread (you know I have to throw in a corny analogy every once in a while so that all this fashion talk doesn't get too serious). For some, it is a certain color or style of trouser, and for others, it is the perfect shade of lipstick. Either way, finding something and making it your own is the perfect way to stay grounded in this mad mad world of fashion.
